Welcome to Brinkworth Smithy, here I forge and construct pieces of work using processes and techniques that have been handed down through the centuries in the craft of the Blacksmith.  My work has a broad spectrum, tools – iron mongary – window & door furniture – fire/log baskets and irons – gates – benches – restoration and medieval weaponry etc. I work hard and long to produce work of the highest of quality with many bespoke pieces produced for clients all over the world.

I have been lucky to have forged some historical replica commissions which are now on display in museums throughout Europe.  With other public commissions throughout the UK. One of many high lights was forging some 16th century tools for the BBC2 series “England’s Secret Gardens” with Monty Don.

My main interests and speciality lie in arrowheads from the early to late Medieval period covering Viking – Saxon – Japanese – English – Mongolian and Roman, with edge tools coming close behind.

In recognition of consistent high quality work I have been awarded by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths as follows:

Certificate of Competence in 2007

Certificate of Merit in 2009

Diploma of Merit & Associate of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths in 2012

Bronze Medal & Title of Master Blacksmith

&

Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths 2018

My website shows a fraction of my work, more can be seen on the Brinkworth Smithy Facebook page which has regular updates.
